Hi, my name is Ray I am 48 years old. I was born in Arlington Washington.
Jail was my home for three years due to DUI”s. I was tired of living my life the
old way, so I turned to Teen Challenge in the hopes of learning a new way to
live life. Before entering the program I had never read a bible before now I
can’t put it down! While in Teen Challenge I have heard from God and He has
restored my family back to me. I am changing daily in my heart since finding the
Lord. As I continue my walk with God my faith and my trust grows stronger each
and every day!
My name is Michael and I am 23 years old. For the last seven years the havoc of
my drug and alcohol abuse has wrecked my life as well as the relationships of
all those that love me. I have been to multiple treatment centers and I have
been to jail many times. I have backslidden and relapsed more times than I can
remember I have been overwhelmed with such hopelessness and depression that I
thought my life was a total waste.
Teen Challenge has been an answered prayer for my life. This program has given
me tools for life that no other treatment center or correctional facility ever
could. Through Teen Challenge I have been able to experience a 100% real
relationship with God for the first time. God is faithful. God’s power has
restored relationships like I never could have imagined. I have realized the
power of prayer and I know that it was the intercessory prayers of my loved ones
that saved my life. I have been blessed with job and college opportunities
through this program. God has been giving me the desires of my heart through
this program. I am certain that He will continue to grant me my desires as long
as I continue to be faithful to Him with my life, service, love and devotion. In
God I have found a hope and confidence that cannot be shaken.
Hi, my name is Brian I am 39 years old and I grew up in Whatcom County,
Washington. I was raised in a Christian home with godly parents who loved me and
taught me what being a follower of Christ looks like. But despite my Christian
upbringing I chose to experiment with drugs when I was just a teenager.
Experimentation led to addiction, to a myriad of drugs and other
life-controlling problems. For many years I have struggled with failure and
lived bondage to my addiction. My sinful living led me to things that were
shameful and as a result I grieved all those who loved me. One day while
visiting my parents my mother told me it was time for me to get my life right.
So she told me that I needed to look at Teen Challenge as a place to go to for
recovery. Little did I know that this was a divine intervention. I resisted at
first, but God softened my heart and I said yes to spending a year in the
program. Since I have been in Teen Challenge I have had many encounters with
Christ that have radically changed me. I literally feel like the prodigal son
who has come home. Through the structure and discipline of this program I have
found intimacy with God through Christ Jesus. Christ has literally turned all of
my pain and brokenness into something beautiful. Because of Teen Challenge and
Christ I now have a hope and a future. It is here in this program that God has
revealed to me His plan for my life. I am now on a journey of faith and have
committed myself to a life of ministry. It all started when my Mom said go to
Teen Challenge and I said yes!
My name is Cody, I am 22 years old. I arrived in Teen Challenge as a broken
hearted, mentally and spiritually hurting individual in deep need of Christ’s
renewing power in my life. From a very young age I’ve known who Christ is. I
even accepted Him as my Savior. However in high school I started going to
parties where there was plenty of alcohol to be consumed. Time went by and this
became the main focus of my life. God, family, school and work became secondary
to my search for a good time. All too many of us have learned of the pain and
emptiness this kind of lifestyle leads to. On December 16th, 2005 I walked into
the doors of Teen Challenge ready to let the Lord, be lord of my life. I can say
with confidence that it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Today I have hope,
joy and a renewed firm sense of who I am in Christ. My plans are to become
active in my local church, work towards my business degree at Northwest
University, and to be the best big brother that I can be toward my little
bother.
My name is Hugo, I am 24 years old. Just like the prodigal son left his father’s
house I have left the presence of the Lord and went back to my old ways. But the
Lord did not leave me, He called me back out of the darkness, out of my vomit
thatI had returned to. Teen Challenge helped my brother Marcos, he completed the
program in 2003 and has been serving God mightily ever since, he reached back to
help me and so now I am in the program and I am being transformed and restored
back to my Lord Jesus Christ! I am being changed by the power of God through the
help of our staff in Teen Challenge and I am being turned into the man that God
wants me to be! |
